What Makes Our Almonds Unique
We are a multi-generational farm company. Our almond acreage is situated on the finest almond ground in the world, located in East Stanislaus County, with its nutrient rich, prolific soils and ideal almond growing climate. It has exceptional access to some of the purest and most pristine water known to man originating from the Sierra Nevada snowpack in Yosemite National Park. In fact, our property has been archived as one of the first almond ranches in California.
We developed a highly proprietary, proven and patent pending technology. Our nuts taste different due to our multi-layered proprietary farming technologies which begin by requiring over 10 years to convert the orchard to our Wild Soil brand platform. Our orchards are grown in virgin soils utilizing our Wild Soil brand proprietary technology, the way our forefathers farmed pre-1920. Our soil’s health and biodiversity is proven and can be independently verified. Because of the extreme vitality and diversity of the soil our almonds contain superior taste and nutritional qualities as well. Our almonds undergo proprietary testing, proving their content of naturally occurring prebiotics and probiotics. No other grower farms the way we do.

Wild Soil Almonds

Consuming just 20 grams of nuts per day (about 20 almonds) may reduce the risk of death and chronic disease, according to a recent massive meta-analysis of 20 studies and 820,000 participants by the Imperial College London School of Public Health published in the journal of BMC Medicine.
Their results provide further evidence that nut consumption may reduce:
The risk of coronary heart disease
Total cancer, and all-cause mortality, and possibly mortality from diabetes, respiratory disease, and infectious disease
The authors estimated that in 2013 as many as 4.4 million deaths could have been avoided by a nut intake above 20 g/day in North & South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Western Pacific.

Wild Soil brand farming uses proprietary cultural methods to create a form of restored virgin soil. Virgin soil allows plants to achieve their full potential. In addition, good soil contains a diversity of microorganisms that trigger disease resistance in the plant by stimulating its immune system and suppress the growth of plant pathogens in the soil. This combination of a vibrant plant and fewer pathogens reduces the need for pesticides.
Conventional farming produces big plants, which are maintained with continuing supplies of chemical fertilizer and pesticides. Modern farming creates sterile soils as many of these chemicals decimate the life in the soil. The byproduct of these sterile soils is sterile food that is lacking in rich life and naturally occurring probiotics. Science is now understanding that soil life protects human life as eating foods rich in natural probiotics protects human health through healthy gut/intestinal microflora and protects the environment. New research suggests sterile foods are contributing to the dramatic rise in human noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and stroke to name just a few.
Organic farming claims to use fewer chemicals, but organic growers can still use 23 Class 1 chemicals for growing almonds. (We choose not to be associated with the organic label). Class 1 pesticides are all extremely toxic to humans and must carry the warning, DANGER, on their label. Many of these are restricted use chemicals. They can be used only by well-trained, licensed professionals, who must wear special protective gear in some cases.
Our farming method is an informed version of organic management. We grow plants that are so vibrantly healthy we do not need to use any Class 1 pesticides.

Our almond trees grow in newly virgin soil which was restored in part by supplying proprietary, organic compost. We use our own proprietary methods for monitoring microbial diversity and rejecting any compost or other inputs that do not meet our farming standards.

Wild Soil brand farming methods were developed after more than a generation of trials and testing by a research group comprised of a consortium of subject matter experts in diverse disciplines including soil science, microbiology, human pathology and immunology. Several of these experts are among the top in the world in their field. These researchers obtained their PhDs/studies/residencies at the following institutions: Harvard, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, and St. Louis University.
Additionally, we have operated under ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles since 2016. ESG is looked at in assessing the impact of the sustainability and ethical practices of a company.

Unlike other growers’ almonds, Wild Soil Almonds are grown completely glyphosate free. Even “certified” organic almond farms use glyphosate on newly planted trees, for up to three years. We do not expose our soil or almonds to glyphosate or allow our soils to absorb it as a legacy toxin.
