My water is filtering down too slowly!
Occasionally this will happen, and after unnscrewing the filter cartridge you can fix it in three easy steps:
1) Squeeze it – give the sides a light squeeze a few times
2) Shake it – shake the cartridge up and down
3) Tap it – tap it with medium force on the counter a few times
After screwing the filter back it, it should work good as new!
There is a grey residue in my water pitcher. What is causing this?
If your water has a lot of minerals already in it (i.e. hard water), turning it alkaline will release some of those minerals, creating the residue you are seeing. This residue can be easily cleaned off with water and vinegar.
