What is biltong, and why is it better than beef jerky? Originating in South Africa, this tasty meat snack has slowly been making its way across the world. Have one bite, and it’s easy to see why, it’s hard to explain what makes it so good, but we’ll try. Made from high-quality beef that’s cut into thick strips, it’s dipped in vinegar, coated in a mix of all-natural spices, and then left to cure in a controlled air dried environment. We make it by hand in small batches. Our story is a simple one, two guys traveled to South Africa, ate biltong, fell in love with its meaty goodness. Returned home to the US and couldn’t find it anywhere. Many months of experimenting, tweaking, consulting, and burning the midnight oil later, we arrived at a product that we couldn’t be more proud of.
